How to use and troubleshoot my iSM1030BT is a karaoke system?

iSM1030BT is a karaoke system that plays CD+G discs and can also play karaoke files from a USB drive. It also supports Bluetooth audio.

The preferred way to use this model is with the Singing Machine mobile app.

Using the Singing Machine app

The Singing Machine app is the recommended way to access thousands of karaoke songs. Pair the app to your machine and stream karaoke videos with on-screen lyrics.

Connecting to a TV (A/V output)

Connecting your machine to a TV lets you see lyrics and video.

Setup steps

  1. Connect the yellow video plug from the unit's VIDEO OUT to your TV's Video In.
  2. Connect the red and white audio plugs from the unit's AUDIO OUT to your TV's (or stereo's) Audio In.
  3. On your TV, select the correct input source (often AV).

Important notes

  • To see lyrics on the TV, you must play a CD+G disc or an MP3+G file.
  • If you do not connect audio cables, sound plays from the unit's speakers.

Connecting via Bluetooth

You can use Bluetooth to connect your phone or tablet to the karaoke machine for audio.

Pairing steps

  1. Turn on the karaoke machine.
  2. Press FUNCTION until the screen displays BLUETOOTH.
  3. On your phone or tablet, open Settings and select Bluetooth.
  4. Turn Bluetooth On.
  5. Select Singing Machine from the list of available devices.
  6. If prompted for a PIN, enter 0000.

If Bluetooth connects but there is no music

  • Turn up the volume on both the karaoke machine and your phone or tablet.
  • Make sure your phone or tablet volume is not muted.

Playing karaoke from CD+G (disc)

  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Insert a CD+G disc.
  3. Press FUNCTION until the screen displays DISC.
  4. Turn the MONITOR switch On to view lyrics on the built-in screen (and on the TV if connected).
  5. Press Play/Pause to start.

Playing karaoke from USB

This model plays MP3+G karaoke files from USB.

  1. Insert a USB drive with MP3+G files.
  2. Press FUNCTION until the screen displays USB.
  3. Select a file and start playback.

Important note about MP3+G ZIP files

MP3+G downloads are often delivered as a single ZIP file. The machine cannot play the ZIP file directly.

You must unzip the file so you have both the .mp3 and .cdg files on the USB drive.


Downloading songs from the Karaoke Store

⚠️ Important notice: The Singing Machine Karaoke Download Store is closing in mid-2026. If you have purchased songs or plan to, we strongly recommend downloading them to your USB drive as soon as possible before the store closes.

Please also note that purchased songs are no longer supported in the Singing Machine mobile app, which has moved to a subscription-based model. Songs downloaded to USB will continue to work on this machine.

This model uses USB MP3+G karaoke files.

Install the Karaoke Store computer software

  1. Download and install the Karaoke Store App: https://singingmachine.com/pages/app-install
  2. Open the Karaoke Store App.
  3. Sign in or create an account.

Download songs and transfer to USB

  1. In the Karaoke Store App, set the download format to ZIP (MP3+G).
  2. Insert a USB flash drive into your computer.
  3. In the Karaoke Store App, use + ADD to transfer purchased songs to the USB drive.

Play songs from USB on the machine

  1. Insert the USB into the machine.
  2. Switch the karaoke system to USB function mode.
  3. Start playback. Lyrics display on the TV when connected.

Troubleshooting

No power

  • Press the ON/STANDBY button to turn power on.
  • Confirm the AC adapter is connected securely to the back of the unit.
  • Try a different wall outlet.

No sound (general)

  • Turn up the Master Volume.
  • Make sure the correct function is selected using the FUNCTION button.
  • If headphones are connected, unplug them.

No sound when connected to a TV

  • Make sure the TV volume is not muted and is turned up.
  • Confirm the red and white audio plugs are connected correctly.
  • Select the correct TV input source (often AV).

Lyrics do not appear on the screen

  • Confirm the yellow video plug is connected correctly.
  • Select the correct TV input source (often AV).
  • Confirm you are playing a CD+G disc or MP3+G file.
  • Make sure the MONITOR switch is set to On.

CD section is not working properly

  • Confirm a disc is inserted correctly.
  • Use only CD, CD+G, CDR, or CDRW discs.
  • If the lens is dirty, disconnect power and clean the lens with a CD lens cleaner.
  • If moisture has formed, power off and unplug the unit for 20 to 30 minutes to dry.

No sound from the microphone

  • Make sure the microphone is firmly connected to MIC 1 or MIC 2.
  • Make sure the microphone is turned on.
  • Turn up the MIC VOLUME.
  • Turn up the Master Volume.

USB files will not play

  • Replace the file if it is corrupted.
  • Confirm the file format is supported.
  • Try a different USB drive.

Missing or broken parts

If any parts are missing or damaged from your box, here is the best way to resolve the issue:

AC Power Cord

This model is no longer supported, so we do not carry replacement power cords. If your power cord is missing or damaged, you can use a compatible cord you already own or purchase a replacement from an electronics retailer.

If you choose to use a different cord, make sure it meets the following requirements to avoid damaging your machine:

  • Output: AC 110–120V, 60Hz
  • Plug type: Standard AC power cord
  • Polarity: Not applicable (AC power)

When searching online, a phrase like "AC 110-120V 60Hz power cord" should give you relevant results.
